Roland notices the rough-looking, robed human and hulking lizard-man approaching just as desert is being served. He doesn't make any overt actions but keeps an eye on them and tenses for potential trouble as he takes a sip of brandy and starts on his cobbler.
“I’m sure they’re harmless,” Arabella whispers to Roland as she notices him tense.
The servant has just placed High Lord Fennix’s dessert in front of him as Quiberron Libran and Tyrects reach the head of the table. High Lord Fennix raises a brow at the pair and the waiter retreats. “How can I help you?” Fennix asks the two men.
Arabella studies Tyrects out of the corner of her eye, appearing intrigued. Roland, however, suddenly lurches to his feet despite Arabella's calming words. "Stop!" he cries out, but rather than lunging at the crocodile-man or the mage, he rushes the waiter, attempting to grab him. For, beneath the waiter’s coat, he had spotted something--a splatter of blood on the man’s white shirt, hidden by his jacket and only revealed just barely when he turned to leave.
In a dangerous political climate, several expeditions are made to the infamous Wilds in hopes of expanding the country, Urbane, and avoiding an all out civil war. But, when the lord in charge of the excursions is almost assassinated, tensions increase and put new pressures on the brave explorers.
