Tyrects, holding tight to the ogre with all four limbs, begins chomping at the ogre's neck, torso and arms. Flynn sees this as an opportunity to make a grab for the greatclub in its hand. He waits a second for a good opportunity, then lunges, trying to yank the massive weapon free. He grunts and growls in effort; then, with a pop, he tugs it out of the ogre’s grasp just as Tyrects bites a hole in the beast’s jugular. Blood gushes as its head lolls to the side and it falls limp in the crocodile-man’s arms. Tyrects struggles for only a moment with the massive humanoid’s weight before pushing him off.
Meanwhile, Quiberron casts another magic missile. Three darts of force speed away again, but this time their target is the Demon-born in the door. At the same time, Bart dives down from the rafters to help Fennix. He screeches in the Demon-born’s face, before flying back up to the ceiling.
The Demon-born staggers from blow after blow, and with the aid of Bart, Fennix raises his sword and cleaves the demon spawn to the ground.
The Pale Elf notes this without emotion and saunters back across the dining-hall-turned-battlefield, stepping over broken furniture and bodies dropped by mercenaries. In a black mist she vanishes, only to appear in the hall behind the Demon-born. She stands over the limp body and snaps her whip toward Fennix. The barbed leather wraps around the High Lord’s arm, flaying open the skin.
Again, she strikes, and this time she drops him to the tile.
Arabella screams and falls toward her father.
