Stepping into the room after the ogre come a deep blue Demon-born, with crimson eyes and rams horns, and a Pale Elf woman. The woman’s eyes immediately fall to Sabal, and her brow arches upward. A slow smile creeps across her lips. “Oh, won’t this be fun,” she purrs, a whip already curled around her hands.
High Lord Fennix charges at the ogre, swinging and gashing a hole in the beast’s leg. With a twitch of the Demon-born’s fingers, the wound on the hulking creature’s thigh instantly begins to knit back together.
Arabella stumbles from her seat, falling toward Roland. Her hand slaps against his back, and he feels life rage through his veins.
As Roland feels a bit of life flow back into him, he puts a hand to the wound in his belly, the blood flow but a trickle compared to what it should be. He looks over and smiles sincere thanks to Arabella. He then turns to the foes her father engaged. "You shall not have him, or this place!" He rushes toward them and strikes—not at the ogre, but the Demon-born—lashing out with a knife alive with green spell fire. As he rushes past the Pale Elf woman, he feels a swoosh of air as the whip cracks next to his ear.
From a secondary entrance, also on fire, the door crashes open as a second ogre rams through, followed by what look to be several human mercenaries.
By this time, many of the other guests are on their feet, finding their own various improvised weapons. They clash with the second ogre and the mercenaries, leaving the first to Sabal and the others near him.
In a dangerous political climate, several expeditions are made to the infamous Wilds in hopes of expanding the country, Urbane, and avoiding an all out civil war. But, when the lord in charge of the excursions is almost assassinated, tensions increase and put new pressures on the brave explorers.
